About the Artist
Eduardo Kobra (Brazilian, 1976) is a street artist whose signature style features bright colors, bold lines and a kaleidoscope theme. The artist's love for street art developed as a teenager in his hometown of São Paolo, a prominent city in contemporary street art. He then began Studio Kobra, and his work in murals quickly took shape.
Kobra's style is easily recognizable. His technique utilizes the repetition of squares and triangles to bring his photorealistic portraits to life.
This mural, commissioned by HG Contemporary, is positioned above Empire Diner on 22nd St. and 10th Ave. This landmarked establishment has been a staple of the Chelsea neighborhood since 1976.
